About Me

Hello! My name is Leah, and I write and edit stories on gender, international affairs, development, national security, and politics. I'm the managing editor at VICE News.


I'm an Emmy-nominated editor and have been published in The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Lily for The Washington Post, Bitch Media, Hyperallergic, The Forward, OZY, Atlas Obscura, Fodor’s Travel, and Culture Trip. I also wrote Rwanda’s section for Fodor’s 2018 print edition of A Complete Guide To African Safaris, and contributed to Atlas Obscura's upcoming book. 

I have a BA from Dartmouth College in Women's and Gender Studies and African Studies and an MS from the University of Cape Town in Gender Studies. I also have an MS from Columbia Journalism School.
