About Me

Hello! My name is Leah, and I write about international affairs, development, national security, gender, religion, and health. I'm a senior features editor at VICE. 

I have been published in The Atlantic, The New York Times, The Lily for The Washington Post, Bitch Media, Hyperallergic, The Forward, OZY, Atlas Obscura, Fodor’s Travel, and Culture Trip. I also wrote Rwanda’s section for Fodor’s 2018 print edition of A Complete Guide To African Safaris, and contributed to Atlas Obscura's upcoming book. 

I have a BA from Dartmouth College in Women's and Gender Studies and African Studies and an MS from the University of Cape Town in Gender Studies. I also have an MS from Columbia Journalism School.
